Bathroom Remodel
Minor Bathroom Remodels are typically same location upgrades. The work involves:
- Plumbing – sink and faucet replacement, shower valve replacement.
- Electrical – lighting, new outlets, converted outlets.
- Mechanical – fan
Like a minor Kitchen Remodel, cabinet refacing and countertop replacement do not require a permit, therefore the permit is pulled as a plumbing, electrical, mechanical permit.
All work is done without moving walls or adding windows or moving appliance locations or plumbing fixtures.
Drawings showing the existing bathroom and the proposed bathroom are generally required. Typically the city wants to see existing and proposed electrical work – including lighting. Show existing and proposed lighting, existing and proposed mechanical work, existing and proposed plumbing.
Remember – all jurisdictions are different!
One jurisdiction may not even require drawings if the work is all done in the same location.
The next jurisdiction may require two sets of an 11”x17” drawing!
